Rosario Marin and Corruption In
Huntington Park

Evidence of an Official Cover-up.

Q: Why did city council and the District Attorney's office keep
ex-Mayor and Rosario Marin protege Edward Escareno's recent
felony conviction for "
Grand Theft" a secret? Not even The Los
Angeles Times was notified.

A: To prevent damaging exposure to Rosario Marin. On February 1,
2006,  Marin is scheduled to be sworn in by Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger as his newest State Cabinet member at Huntington
Park City Hall.

The timing of the two events, Escareno's pleading guilty and his
conviction on December 12, 2005 and Marin's appointment by the
Governor on February 1, 2006, was evidently too close for comfort.

On January 16, 2006, WatchOurCity.com broke the story on
Escareno's conviction fully 30 days after the he plead guilty to the
charges, Then, two days later on January 18, the Spanish daily La
Opinion newspaper had a front Page headline report titled
"
Corruption in Huntington Park".

Why was Huntington Park chosen as a venue for this momentous
event to appoint Rosario? Is it to show the influence
Rosario wields
over elected officials in Huntington Park?

Rosario Marin is in control of the majority votes in city Council,
where her close inner-circle friends  received special favors in
getting city contracts
worth millions of dollars.

"
Were it up to me to decide
whether we should have a

not hesitate a moment to prefer
the latter
".

The author states, "
Jefferson
knew first hand that without
newspapers to report and
comment on its actions, a
government can -
and most
likely will - abuse its powers.
Jefferson also knew that
citizens had to be well
informed what actions
government took to affect
public policy
".
