From Huntington Park to Pico Rivera

Pico Rivera, CA - On April 17, 2006, Leonardo Lopez, owner of Leonardo's Restaurants, gave two contributions to Pico
Rivera's Mayor David Armenta totaling $5,500.

Huntington Park's mayor John Noguez and Armenta have been recent fast allies.

Armenta conspired to hire a  campaign manager without prior municipal management experience to be Pico Rivera's city
manager.

See how Noguez is helping Leonardo's in Huntington Park. What could Leonardo's and John Noguez want from Pico's
Armenta?

City of Vernon Focus of Corruption Probe

Vernon, CA - Vernon city officials do not want the L.A. County District Attorney to look at some allegedly potentially
damaging documents currently under seal, reports the L.A. Times and
San Jose Mercury News on 4-26-06.

Vernon is taking it all the way to the California Supreme Court. Eduardo Olivo, then Vernon's city attorney, began to
investigate whistleblower complaints of misuse of public funds against the city's own management and was fired by
Vernon officials.

Olivo is now City of Commerce's attorney and is suing Francisco Leal, Huntington Park's attorney, for Leal's alleged
misdeeds while he was attorney in Commerce (
see report).
