"Southeast Cities Make Plans to Separate from LA Unified"

Pasadena, CA -"The cities of Bell, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Maywood and South Gate are forming a public
agency as a response to LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's proposal to take control of the LA Unified School
District. " This is an audio report (click to listen
http://www.scpr.org/).

According to the KPCC public radio station report, the mayors from these southeast cities would like the
power to appoint the superintendent and the principal to each school. More significantly, the mayors
would like the power and authority over hundreds of millions of dollars that the new school district would
have at its disposal. Currently it is against state law for city councils to run any school districts. There are
many reasons for that law.

WatchOurCity.com has been reporting about secret meetings that
George Cole has been having with
southeast city mayors to break away. The plan is now made public. The public is still not invited.
