Huntington Park, CA - Mayor Juan "John"
Renaldo Rodriguez (Noguez), whatever his real
name is, and his slate won reelection with help
from city contractors. Several witnesses
reported that Fiesta Taxi, a city transportation
contractor, was ferrying Noguez supporters to
poll stations. Supporters were day laborers
picked up at the local Home Depot. Several of
the day laborers were interviewed and they all
said that they were offered money, free
t-shirts with "Vote for Noguez" and free
transportation to and from poll stations. Fiesta
Taxi's contract is reportedly funded from a mix
of state and federal funds. Fiesta Taxi was
awarded a questionable $3.9 million dollar
contract, along with George Cole's Oldtimers
foundation by Noguez and team in 2004.
In one of the most shocking displays of cavalier
conflict of interest, one of the city's voting
precincts was located inside the Oldtimers
Foundation building run by George Cole, a city
of Bell councilman. The Oldtimers has been the
exclusive favorite contractor of John Noguez for
city contracts totalling millions of dollars: the
$3.9 million "Combi" transportation contract,
Meals-on-Wheels, Pasitos day care, senior
housing contracts, and the AIDS/HIV clinic
contract were all awarded to George Cole by
John Noguez. Cole's fundraiser, Conrado
Terrazas, is also John Noguez's political
fundraiser.
John Noguez's campaign manager and current
Bell Gardens councilman, Mario Beltran, is a
staffer for newly elected State Senator Ron
Calderon. A Police cruiser was observed with
Noguez lawn signs in the back seat and in one
case delivering an elderly lady presumably to
vote. How nice of them. Voting precinct staff
did not require any kind of voter identification.
Any one could just walk in and vote. Several
voters were interviewed and not one was
asked for a picture ID. Reportedly, some
precinct poll workers appeared in Noguez
mailers. The L.A. Weekly reports that in Cudahy
"Hummer limousines" were " ferrying certain
voters to the polls" (click to see L.A. Weekly
Report - 3-8-07).
Poll observers reported witnessing poll
workers who would go up to voters who were
already in the polling booth to "assist" them in
voting, then advising them that to use the new
system, they had to start by punching at the
very top. Juan Noguez was first on the ballot.
This was reported by more than two voters.
Poll workers were also observed taking the
completed ballot from a voter WITHOUT the
privacy sleeve, looking at it, and then
submitting it into the box for them.
Some poll places were observed to have stacks
of invitations to the Noguez post-election bash
at Leonardo Nightclub (Noguez seemed to be
absolutely sure of his election win). Invitations
were located on a chair situated next to the
table where voters had to sign in. Noguez,
Gomez, Hernandez T-shirts were also observed
at those tables in addition to some of their
campaign propaganda.
Pre-filled Sample ballots were also observed at
the polling booths for voters to view as they
voted. At one polling place, the booths were
located directly in front (less than 4 feet away)
from the poll worker's table, allowing both poll
workers and voters in line to see what
individuals were marking and eliminating the
privacy of the vote. To report voter fraud, you

Post Election Watch 2007 Efren Martinez Fired From HP Chamber of Commerce? Noguez Threats Carried Out
The Editor, WatchOurCity.com Posted Wednesday, March 8, 2007
Huntington Park, CA - Ron Garcia, Board chairman of the Huntington Park Chamber of Commerce and close friend of John Noguez, reportedly called Martinez at 3:45 pm on election day March 6, to tell him his reinstatement to work for the chamber is on hold and does not know if Martinez will be reinstated. Ron Garcia is a public relations representative for Southern California Edison for the Southeast Cities and lives in Santa Clarita. Efren Martinez was employed by the city's chamber for a few years.
Martinez was a council challenger and lost the election, along with a slate that included Linda Guevara, a former councilwoman and Valentin Amezquita. Council candidate Mario Gomez, who also won reelection, reportedly tried to dissuade Efren from challenging the Noguez slate.
Reportedly, on election day, a voter approached Martinez and asked if it was true that he was under investigation by the U.S. Marines for killing babies while Martinez was serving this country in war torn Iraq. She described how certain women associated with Noguez and councilwoman Ofelia Hernandez approached her and showed a picture of a dead baby and stated that Martinez had killed babies in Iraq. For the record, Martinez is not under investigation and still in active service.
After valiantly serving this country in war, Martinez comes home to be slandered and notified that reinstatement to his job is on hold, all for challenging John Noguez. The action by Ron Garcia, who represents the Chamber of Commerce's board of Directors, all friends of John Noguez, is highly questionable, extremely cowardly and only confirms the entrenched and vindictive corruption of John Noguez, aided and abetted by a Southern California Edison field representative, among others.
Efren Martinez was simply exercising his constitutional rights to participate in a democratic process, upholding principles he so ardently believes and went to war to fight for. But John Noguez and friends could care less about constitutionality anything, evidently.
In a report by the L.A. Weekly on February 21, 2007, it was revealed that a police report details threats made against council candidate Efren Martinez. The L.A. Weekly report states: "on January 24, candidate Martinez was threatened, according to the Huntington Park Police Department crime report, while walking on Stafford Avenue at about 7 p.m. According to the report, Martinez was approached from behind and confronted by a man with a thick mustache and heavy eyebrows wearing a black blazer and slacks while two other similarly dressed men stood behind the first suspect. The suspect grabbed Martinez, pushed him against a wall and said, “Whatever you’re doing with John Noguez, let it go,” the police report states. The three men got into a black luxury car, driven by a fourth suspect, and drove off. The report states that Martinez took the incident as a threat after one of the men stated that they were serious. Martinez, who lost his bid for council in 2005, declined to comment on the alleged threat." (see L.A. Weekly report).
Dante D'eramo, Executive Director of the Huntington Park Chamber of Commerce, holds considerable sway and influence over the Chamber's board members. Dante is a close personal friend of Mayor John Noguez.

Noguez Slate
Monday, March 5, 2007
The city clerk Rosanna
Ramirez seems to
favor the Noguez Team
by her official actions.
One example:
Absentee ballots
submitted to her office
by the Guevara,
Martinez, Amezquita
slate are reportedly
taking 2 weeks to be
processed and mailed
to the applicant voters.
She seems to be
purposefully holding
back the absentee
applications. This task
normally takes 1 day to
process. Noguez
reports in his
expenditure forms that
the city clerk's mother
is a paid consultant to
the Noguez campaign.
According to candidate
Efren Martinez, the city
clerk also refused to
accept 32 absentee
ballots for the simple
reason that she could.
Martinez called the
County Elections board
to complain.
