Misleading Statements That He "Led The Effort To Establish A Public
Transportation System" And That He Has Worked "To Continue Building
New Schools"?

Huntington Park, CA - In a recent published interview, Mayor John Noguez is quoted as
making the following statements 1) The he "led the effort to establish a transportation
system"; 2) that he "increased the nutrition program providing hot meals"; 3)  That he has
"worked with others to continue building new schools".

The interview, appearing in Adelante Magazine, was written by Conrado Terrazzas.
Adelante Magazine is a Gay and Lesbian Monthly Publication. The comments by Noguez
area seemingly misleading do not seem truthful (

Noguez).

In its interview of Mayor Noguez, Adelante Magazine states: "we want to congratulate you
on being the first openly gay mayor in Southeast Los Angeles" (

The City has had a transportation system in place for many years before Noguez was in
office. Perhaps Mayor Noguez is referring to public record evidence that he favored
campaign contributors George Cole of Oldtimers Foundation and Victor Caballero of Fiesta
Taxi whom were awarded an almost $4 million transportation contract, costing the city
$22,000 in public funds, since reportedly neither was the low bidder.

Meals on Wheels is an L.A. County funded seniors program and is administered by the
City. Again, a campaign contributor, Oldtimers is awarded the contract for meals on wheels.

New school construction is the responsibility of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
City council recommends potential school sites. According to reports, Mayor Noguez has
little if any involvement with school construction, and reportedly had little involvement with
new school site selection.

John Noguez neglects to mention that he was closely involved in a proposed school site
selection process with the school District.

According to public court documents obtained by WatchOurCity.com, Noguez was part of
a lawsuit to prevent the school District from selecting a proposed new school site in the city
of Los Angeles where he has real estate interests.
